The person selected will join the UOC's Faculty of Psychology and Education Sciences, specializing in the field of language and communication disorders.

Responsibilities:

UOC faculty promote and direct distance learning in their fields of expertise. Particular attention must be given to the preparation of programmes of study, course contents and teaching materials, as well as the supervision and coordination of students' learning processes. Faculty members are also responsible for driving innovation, especially in terms of methods and techniques used in distance learning and research activities in their fields of expertise.

The successful candidate will be awarded an open-ended, full-time contract corresponding to their academic rank (lecturer, associate professor or full professor). Scheduled start date: at the earliest opportunity, to be discussed once the candidate has been selected.

The place of work will be the UOC's 22@ campus, Rambla del Poblenou 156, Barcelona.

What we are looking for:

  • Preferably, higher education qualifications in speech and language therapy, but candidates with undergraduate degrees in education or psychology as well as professional experience in the field of speech and language therapy will also be considered.
  • PhD in the field of language and communication disorders and/or PhD in the field of childhood language and communication disorders (or similar).
  • Formal accreditation of teaching and research career.
  • International experience teaching or researching in the field of childhood language and communication disorders.
  • Field of specialization: the pathology of childhood language and communication disorders, preferably in reading and writing disorders or other developmental disorders.
  • Research activity in the field of childhood language and communication disorders.
  • Experience in university teaching: course design, planning and running of teaching activities, and design of teaching materials and assessment tools.
  • Professional experience in therapeutic intervention for childhood language and communication disorders.
  • The ability to communicate both verbally and in writing in both Spanish and Catalan.
  • English language skills of at least CEFR level B2, i.e. First Certificate equivalent.
  • Results-orientation, with the ability bring added value to the job, seeking achievement and continuous improvement in order to meet with standards of excellence.
  • Ability to work as part of a team, providing coordination, cooperation and collaboration.
  • High level of initiative, and ability to work in innovative environments.
